In 1995, Dublin began hosting one of the world's largest St. Patrick's Day festivals, in order to reclaim the holiday for Irish people and showcase the country's creativity, imagination and culture.  This five-day extravaganza includes a leprechaun hunt at the National Wax Museum, theater by local Irish writers, a football championship, a photography exhibit, a parade and more.  Although there's plenty of drinking, the festival has something for the whole family.
