Launched this year as an initiative of the Arab Film Festival, the Arab Film and Media Institute will be a complete ecosystem to nurture new talent through our filmmaker services and bring the Arab experience to American classrooms though our education program. Its mission is to inspire, educate and connect by developing and showcasing Arab voices through storytelling.
The Arab Film Festival, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016, is not only a Bay Area institution but has grown into a powerful force throughout California, thanks to its Los Angeles and San Diego editions. It continues to present the best contemporary films that provide insight into the beauty, complexity and diversity of the Arab world alongside realistic perspectives on Arab people, culture, art, history and politics. It has also achieved international standing and is now considered one of the most important Arab film festivals outside the Arab world.
A welcoming place for the diverse LGBT community and its supporters to find innovative services and fabulous cultural programs that lead to a stronger, healthier community and a more equitable world.
