The Stars of the White Nights is an international festival of ballet, opera and classical music. Nightly performances of masterpieces and premieres of new works are held on Mariinsky Theatre stages. It takes place during the shortest nights of the year when midnight is daylight. Partying in the streets includes gypsy bands, fire eaters, red-sailed tall ships and fireworks - Russian style.
