Cape Point is that bit of rugged rock and sheer cliff that sticks out into the Atlantic at the southeast corner of the Cape Peninsula, a little north of the Cape of Good Hope on the southwest corner. The nature reserve around the point is wild and unspoiled, a haven for seabirds and Chaca baboons, which can be aggressive. From the parking lot, the three-minute Flying Dutchman Funicular will take you up to the old lighthouse if you don't relish the hike. Cape Point also has a stylish seafood restaurant with spectacular views, open daily 9 am to 5 pm. There's a free Cape Point audio tour to download before you go.
