The flat-topped Table Mountain, Cape Town's most recognizable landmark, provides incredible views, rich biodiversity and challenging recreational opportunities for hikers, rock climbers, mountain cyclists and cavers. It is often covered by clouds, called "the table cloth." The top can also be reached by cable car. See our suggested itinerary for ways to explore the sandstone plateau, which is part of Table Mountain National Park, included in the UNESCO Cape Floral Region World Heritage Site.
