Dating from the mid-19th century, the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens covers 5.6 hectares (14 acres) and is divided into two sections. The Old Garden to the east has aviaries, a green house, the Fountain Terrace Garden ( open 5 am - 10 pm) and a playground. Th New Garden is the zoo part with mammals and reptiles. Something is always in bloom and admission is free.
