Shek O Beach is Hong Kong's most complete beach - an expanse of sand that can accommodate as many as 4,000 on a weekend, gently rolling waves, lifeguards, shark nets, rock climbing, windsurfing, paragliding and a good variety of restaurants and shops where you can buy everything you need for a day at the beach. Nearby is Shek O Country Club, which dates to 1919 and still frequented by the richest and oldest trading families. Shek O is on the D'Aguilar Peninsula on the south-east corner of Hong Kong Island and served by red mini-buses.
