Eddy's Bar is the oldest gay bar in the city, open in 1995 but had to move six times before settling in 2002 on Huahai Lu near Jiaotong University. Small and dark, it is where locals and expats meet up, especially after 10 pm on the weekends. The sweaty dance club Shanghai Studio, another golden goldie, used to be across the street, but it has closed, changed its name to Happyness42 and moved to Xingfu Road.
