City God Temple near Yuyan Garden is a nicely restored little temple that dates to the Ming dynasty, but it is more famous today as "Shanghai Snack Kingdom." It's perhaps the largest and most time-honored area for street foods like crab-yellow parties, chop rice cakes and various kinds of buns, but some of the city's most well-known eateries like Lu Bo Lang are also in the neighborhood. Other snack streets can be found throughout the city, but they're rapidly becoming sanitized or touristic.
