The Terracotta Warriors of Xi'an is now under five hours from Beijing by bullet train instead of what was once a 12-hour journey. Domestic flights are also available. The army, numbering in the thousands with each solider having a different expression, lay buried for more than 2000 years until farmers digging a well in 1979 uncovered what is one of the world's greatest archeological finds. The warriors and horses arranged in battle formations are displayed in the Museum of Qin. Work is still going on at the site. From the Xi'an Railway Station, you can take public bus #5(306) and get off at the last stop. TravelChinaGuide also rents chauffeur-driver cars. Group tours crowd the museum in the morning.
