Set within in a nature reserve 12 miles (20 km) south of Tel Aviv, Palmachim Beach is a long peaceful stretch with little infrastructure and thousands of sea shells. Waters are calm in this natural harbor, and the ancient ruins in the cliffs above are accessible by nature trail. Busier on weekends. Entrance fee for cars.

Nice to walk through the area along the banks of the Sorek River. There is a nature preserve for an endangered species of Turtles here. Also nearby are the ruins of Nabi Rubin, a traditional site for the mausoleum of Reuben, the son of Jacob.
