The Church of Our Saviour was built for King Christian V by architect Lambert van Haven in the late 17th century. The facade is a nice example of Palladian Dutch Baroque style and is topped with an iconic tower wrapped in a golden spiral staircase. This is one of the most enduring elements of Copenhagen's skyline, and the tower is open to anyone who can make their way up all 400 steps where the view is, of course, superb. Admission is free.
