Constructed in 2003, the Islands Brygge Harbor Bath complex is one of the crowning jewels of Copenhagen's coastline. Unthinkable in many US cities, the waters here are safe and clean enough to swim in, a pastime that many locals enjoy when the weather permits. The complex has five pools that can fit up to 600 people, and on warm days the surrounding park area will be full of people sunbathing, barbecuing and playing sports. There are also plans in the works to make add hot springs and saunas for cold weather. Admission is free.
