Kronborg Castle - also known as Shakespeare's Castle or Hamlet's Castle - is one of Denmark's most visited attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to the 1420s, it was the inspiration for "The Tragedy of Hamlet", and the play has been performed there many times by actors like Laurence Olivier, Richard Burton, and Derek Jacobi. Entry to the grounds is free, and they are the most impressive aspect, offering plenty of places to picnic and lovely vantage points for photography. For 40 DKK, guests can explore inside, though the interior was burned out centuries ago, and has been rebuilt in a baroque style.
