Opened as a private museum in 1874 by naturalist Edward Booth, the Booth Museum of Natural History is a remarkable showcase of Victorian taxidermy with over 300 dioramas displaying the preserved birds in their natural habitat. There is also an a large collection of butterflies, 525,000 insects, 30,000 plants, fossils, bones and skeletons. Perfect for a rainy day indoors. Entrance is free.
