An hour outside of London, the historic city of Cambridge is one of the world's most beautiful. On the winding River Cam, it is home to the world-renowned University of Cambridge, a number of fine museums, beautiful architecture, green lawns and riverside gardens. One of the more popular activities is punting along the river - gliding in along wooden boat by pushing a pole against the shallow river bottom (and a nice place for champagne or a picnic).
