The Franciscan Museum with a collection including sacred art, manuscripts and a reconstructed monk's cell is housed in a 9th century Benedictine monastery with an impressive garden. It presents a good picture of Franciscan life in Nice from the 13th to 17th centuries and even today as the monastery still has a small community of friars. Henri Matisse, Raoul Dufy and Roger Martin du Gard are buried in the cemetery. Museum admission is free.
