The Grand Pigalle, down the hill and past the Pigalle Metro from Sacre Coeur, is a trendy boutique hotel with a wine bar on the ground floor. The building is classical, but the 37 rooms have a cultivated bohemian feel created by Dorothée Meilichzon of the global design agency Chzon. The hotel is owned by the Experimental Cocktail Group, a partnership of three childhood friends, that has equally trendy bars in Paris, London, Ibiza and New York. The young entrepreneurs wanted to create a space where "the guests would never feel like 'tourists' but would mingle with real Parisians."
