Avenue Montaigne is the fanciest shopping street in Paris and perhaps the world with names like Channel, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabana, Valentino and of course the Dior flagship store at #30. Also on the street is the Theatre des Champs-Élysées, the inspiration for the French film "Avenue Montaigne" in 2006. It's also where Stravinski's controversial "Rite of Spring" ballet, under the direction of Nijinksy, debuted in 1913, inciting a riot as the audience threw vegetables at the stage.
