One of Berlin's most famous architectural sights is the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor), a neoclassical monument from the 18th-century topped with the iconic quadriga, a chariot drawn by four horses, carrying the goddess of peace. Commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia, the gate has served as site for significant historical events throughout the years.

Iconic Berlin monument with a lot of history - it was a lot of fun visiting with a friend who was very knowledgeable about the gate! Usually filled with tourists, watch out for selfie-sticks!
