A popular spot for summer cruising, winter tobogganing and hang-gliders year round, this 3,000-hectare park is a destination for adventurous nature lovers, particularly the leather crowd on warm evenings in the forested area near the Grunewald S-bahn station. To the south is a ferry with crossings to the small island of Lindwerder, and Berlin's oldest palace, Jagdschloss Grunewald, sits on the banks of Lake Grunewald with a collection of works by Rubens and Cranach.
