If the traveler has any work to do while in town, there are few spaces as ideal as the Humboldt University library - the Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum - from architect Max Dudler. Of note in the design-heavy and unconventional library is the unforgettable cascading reading terrace with a view one of the city's largest collections (whose entries remained untouched by the Nazis during their infamous book burnings), including the library of the brothers Grimm.
