Serviced by its very own U-Bahn station, this willow-swept, marshy idyll is at the edge of the Grunewald forest. There are nooks a-plenty for sun bathing and, due to regular draining, some of the freshest lakewater around. There is no wonder this was a part of a private resort sanctioned for the SS, and if one can get over the lingering ghosts, it is one of the loveliest nature spots of Berlin to spend an afternoon or morning.
