An hour's drive from Berlin, this "ship-lifting-works" is basically an impressive elevator used for the ship manufacturing in the 1930s. What's perhaps more interesting and definitely more lovely is the drive itself, which passes through several quaint villages and even an ostrich farm where, yes, one can purchase some meat and a rather tasty egg-liqueur.
