At the junction of a former working class quarter and what was one of Cologne's fanciest housing districts in the 19th-century, the Agnesviertel is named for the Agneskirche at its center, the city's second-largest church. It's a great district to gawk at some noble architecture, do some shopping, and pay a visit to the house of writer Heinrich Böll.
