A memorial to the gays and lesbians murdered by the Nazis, the Rosa-Winkel Mahnmal is made of pink and grey granite and sculpted to recall the upside-down triangle used to identify homosexuals in the concentration camps. It sits on the banks of the Rhine near the Hohenzollern Bridge, once a popular meet-up for gays. The inscription on the low-profile sculpture translates to "Killed - Silenced".
