The Brahms Museum commemorates the first 30 years of the composer's life before he left his birthplace for Vienna. The original home was destroyed during WWII, but Brahms memorabilia and the square piano on which he gave lessons are displayed in a typical merchant's house nearby. It also sponsors concerts and lectures and is headquarters for the Johannes Brahms Society.
