Annexed to the Schloss Nymphenburg, these newer gardens were created in 1914, supplanting the old ones near Karlsplatz. Today the botanical collection contains as many as 16,000 plants and serves as an important resource for the university. The greenhouse complex is enormous, and there is a peaceful pond near the Alpine collections perfect for quiet reflection.
