Built of marble and inaugurated in 416-415 BC, this ancient Greek temple overlooks the Agora from the highest point atop Agoraios Kolonos hill. It is the best preserved ancient Greek temple in the world, surrounded by a single row of Doric columns, all still standing. The internal frieze and the front pieces depict the exploits of Theseus and Hercules.
