Sappho Garden of the Arts is a lesbian-owned, community-oriented art space that plays host to live music, poetry readings, karaoke, and open-air theater. The facility also operates as a café and bar, so crowds gather to have a drink and kick back even when the stage is empty. The Garden makes a point of audience participation; expect to be encouraged to get up there and share your talents be they comedic, vocal or theatrical. Main acts run the gamut from lesbian cabaret to soulful singer-songwriters, but the common element is open-mindedness.
