The Ganymed statue was completed by Hermann Hubacher in 1952 and sits on the Bürkliterrasse on the shores of Lake Zurich. Inspired in Greek mythology but sculpted as a Swiss version, the handsome prince Ganymede is shown pleading with Zeus, in the form of an eagle, to take him up to Olympus. Zeus did, but the sculpture depicts their moment on earth prior to the abduction.
