The Evita Peron Museum is housed in a handsome old mansion, declared a National Historical Monument in 1999. It is where Evita opened a shelter for impoverished women and children in 1948. Opened in 2002, the museum's displays chronicle her life as actress, first lady and supporter of female human rights.
