Located between Barra da Tijuca and Leblon beaches, São Conrado is a beautiful stretch of beach known for paragliding and hang gliding. Also popular with surfers, currents are strong and waves can reach up to 150 meters. In the hills above the beach is the Favela of Rocinha, the largest slum in Rio (guided tours available), and nearby is the Sao Conrado Fashion Mall. Watch out for pollution.
