Launched in 1997 by friends Amarildo and Rogério at a time when more and more LGBT bars were opening around Arouche and Avenue Dr. Vieira de Carvalho, ABC Bailão is a pioneer on the scene and continues to be a friendly and all-welcoming dancing destination with a musical repertoire that ranges from the 70s to the present. It is popular on Sundays and with men in their 40s and 50s.
