Known as the unofficial gay stretch of beach, Playa Hollywood is clean with parasols, seating and food options, although rising waters in the last decade have taken over much of the sand. It's particularly busy on Sundays and popular with hawkers peddling massages, braids and knick knacks, all at a cost but negotiable.
