Children's Playground - Who Knew?

Recommended for : Family

An all-inclusive resort is your best bet if taking the family to Acapulco - like the Camino Real in the Diamante tourist area not far from the airport. It has a family plan with no charge for children under 12 sharing a room with parents and a free weekend and holiday recreational program for children ages 4-11. The hotel with three swimming pool including a kids' pool makes a good base for exploring Acapulco and a pleasant refuge when everyone is tuckered out.

Take a day trip to Condesa Beach midway around the bay. The waters are calm, and there are plenty of water activities for kids of all ages and beachside restaurant-bars to entertain the parents. The beach is full of vendors who will offer more than you'll ever need but provide local color at no cost. Let your kids get vicarious thrills by watching the action at the Paradise Bungy.

Move on to El Rollo Water Park, making it in time for the 2 pm dolphin show. Older offspring might prefer the air-conditioned X-Treme City Paintball which is nearby.
4
Back at the hotel by sundown, you can arrange for in-room childcare and a romantic evening wandering the landscaped gardens and dining in one of the gourmet restaurants.

The next day relax on the hotel's private beach or have a go at volleyball, tennis, sailing or snorkeling. Then stroll the paths of the hillside Acapulco Botanical Garden, which has panoramic bay views, walking trails, colorful birds and orchids.
