The "Costera" is Acapulco's main road and tourist avenue, stretching in 12.2 kilometers (7.6 miles) along Acapulco Bay from west to east. Hotels and condominiums line the avenue, along with restaurants, shopping malls, supermarkets, clubs and tourist attractions. The main beaches are also just off the avenue. It has special sidewalks that absorb heat, so you can walk barefoot.
