The Papagayo market near the park of the same name is one of the busiest markets in the city. It sells mostly modern stuff like souvenir T-shirts and inexpensive beachwear, but you'll run across local jewelry made from shells. Vendors expect you to bargain. Close by on a small plaza east of the Hotel Ritz Acapulco, vendors from the hills come to town to sell their handicrafts including baskets, pottery, silver jewelry, woven goods.
