Boca de Tomatlan, a picturesque fishing where river meets sea, is located 11 miles (17 km) from Puerto Vallarta (15-20 minutes by car). The last beach south of Puerto Villarta accessible by land, it is the water-taxi (panga) hub for the wild beaches beyond. Its own beach has soft sands and great food. Local buses serve the village between 6: 30 a.m. to around 11 p.m.
