At the end of a lonely peninsula, Punta Chame is a windsurfer's and kite surfer's dream from late November through April when the gusty trade winds blow. The pristine white sand beaches invite walking during low tide, but strong currents and stingrays often make swimming ill advised. Nitro City, an extreme sport resort created by Travis Pastrana, has both water and land challenges. An hour and a half west of Panama City, Punta Chame is 15 miles off the Inter-American Highway on a paved road.
