Founded in 1933 as Marché du Nord, Jean-Talon Market is one of Montreal's oldest public markets. It's open year round and open air, its arcades filled with local organic produce and regional products, particularly in the summer and fall months, when the central area expands to include over 300 vendors on over half and acre of land. Specialty shops around the market sell cheese, meat, baked goods and kitchenwares.
