Every child growing up in Atlanta has been bussed to Fernbank on countless field trips for viewings of the T-rex skeleton in the central hall or the observatory's giant telescope - the largest in the Southeast. Whether the permanent collection or exhibitions, all inspire a childlike wonder of nature and its bountiful mysteries, although note the equally wondrous "Martinis and IMAX" on Fridays for the grownups.
