The Stonewall National Museum and Archives - with roots in the early 1970s - has a museum at its Wilton Manors location and a 4,000-square-foot (372 sq. m.) library and archives at the Fort Lauderdale Branch Library at 1300 East Sunrise. It also sponsors authors' lectures, literary discussion groups, an opera appreciation group, film programs and a writer's workshop. It has initiated a national registry for pioneering same-sex marriages.
