Opened in the early 60s in a Victorian mansion now well over 100 years old, the Magic Castle is the private clubhouse of the Academy of Magical Arts that showcases magicians nightly in various venues in the mansion and in kids' shows on weekends. The performances and the club's dining room are restricted to members and guests. Membership is open to magicians, magic lovers and Harry Potter wannabes. If not a member or without a friend who is, you can still gain entrance by emailing a magician performing there or staying next door at the Magic Castle Hotel. Neil Patrick Harris was chairman of the Academy from 2011 to 2014.
