Chef Suzanne Gois, the James Beard Outstanding Chef 2016, and Sommelier Caroline Styne opened their flagship Lucques in 1998 in a carriage house of the old Harold Lloyd estate. The Californian-Mediterranean cuisine is rooted in natural ingredients and includes such creative dishes as ricotta gnocchi with morels, carrot purée and black truffle butter. It is famous for its $45 Sunday suppers, which Goin shared in a 2005 classic cookbook, winner of the James Beard Award for "Best Cookbook From a Professional Viewpoint".
