The Watts Towers are 17 major sculptures made of structural steel covered with mortar and decorated with mosaics of broken glass, sea shells, pottery and tile chards. One man - Sabato "Simon" Rodia, an Italian immigrant - built them all without machine equipment over 33 years. His work is the world's largest single construction by one man. Tours of the National Historic Landmark are available Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:30 am to 3 pm and Sunday from 12:30 pm to 3 pm.
