The Azucar Ice Cream Company became a Little Havana institution almost from the moment it opened in 2011, offering artisan ice cream and sorbet just like Abuela used to make. In this case, the grandmother learned to make frozen delights from exotic fruits all over Latin America. Her granddaughter honed the family ice cream tradition with formal studies at Penn State's Ice Cream University and the Frozen Dessert Institute of St. Louis to create more than 100 rotating flavors. In a word, yum. Plus, the giant ice cream cone above the door is a great photo op.
