Miami Charter Boat, established in 1989, docks at Bayside Marketplace pier downtown. It has a full menu of fishing charters for novice through tournament fishermen. Charters can be full or half day with prices quoted by the boat. No more than six can be accommodate by law. The most popular is four hours of sports fishing, leaving at 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. for $900. A full day is $1300. A half day of inshore/bay fishing is $650. A three-hour sports fishing special, trolling on reefs and offshore, is suggested for beginners and families. Before you go, load up on sun screen, take one seasickness remedy the night before and another as you sail, waterproof your camera, wear shoes with good traction and light-colored soles. Hats, polarized sunglasses, long-sleeve shirts and slacks protect against the sun.
