MIami Seaquarium, the oldest oceanarium in the U.S., is home to Lolita the Killer Whale, Flipper of TV fame, a two-level pirate ship, a 750,000-gallon saltwater aquarium and eight marine animal shows, some of which allow you swim with the fishes and live to tell about it. On Rickenbacker Causeway between Miami and Key Biscayne, the 38-acre marine park opened in 1955, Buckminster Fuller designed its distinctive Golden Dome five years later.
