Surfside Beach is between Miami Beach and Bal Harbour. It's a mile of broad silky sand between 88th and 96th Street where not much is happening except lazy beach strolls and slight exertion on the hiking and biking paths. The beach with a dunes flavor can be accessed from nine points along Collins Avenue with pay-station or metered parking nearby. The town of Surfside, incorporated in 1935, has fine examples of Art Deco homes.
